Kingsbury School

Teacher of Science

TMS/UPS

Permanent | Full-time or part-time | January 2027

Inspire curiosity. Build confidence. Help every student succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Science to join Kingsbury School from January 2027.

We are looking for a teacher who loves their subject, enjoys working with young people and believes that every student can succeed. Whether you are an ECT beginning your career or an experienced teacher looking for a new opportunity, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Our core purpose is to Enthuse | Aspire | Achieve. We are a rapidly developing school with high expectations, a strong sense of community and a clear ambition for every student to succeed. Our values of Respect, Kindness, Honesty, Ambition and Pride underpin everything we do.

About the role

As a Teacher of Science, you will join a supportive and collaborative faculty committed to delivering an ambitious and engaging Science curriculum.

You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to develop secure scientific knowledge, curiosity about the world around them and the confidence to achieve well.

We want teachers who combine high expectations with excellent relationships: teachers who know their students well, explain new ideas clearly, model effectively, check understanding and respond to what students know and can do.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is ambitious for every student, including disadvantaged students and those with SEND, and who wants to work in a school where improving classroom practice really matters.

The Science Faculty

You will join a committed team of Science teachers who share high aspirations for our students and a determination to continually improve.

Our curriculum is designed to build students' knowledge and understanding over time, while developing the practical, analytical and problem-solving skills that make Science such an important and exciting subject.

We believe strongly in collaboration. Teachers share ideas, resources and expertise, and professional development is closely connected to what happens in the classroom.

Whether you are joining us as an experienced practitioner or at the beginning of your career, you will be supported to develop, grow and make an impact.

This role could be for you if you:

 are passionate and enthusiastic about teaching Science;

 are an excellent classroom practitioner, or an ECT with the potential to become one;

 can engage, enthuse and motivate young people;

 have high expectations of students' learning, behaviour and achievement;

 are ambitious for the achievement of every student, regardless of background or starting point;

 are committed to inclusive classroom practice and meeting the needs of all learners;

 are reflective and keen to continue developing your teaching;

 enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to the development of a strong faculty.

Why Kingsbury?

We want teachers to be able to concentrate on what matters most: knowing their students, teaching them well and helping them succeed.

At Kingsbury you will find:

 a positive and supportive staff culture;

 clear expectations for behaviour and a pastoral team that supports teachers in maintaining them;

 a strong programme of professional development and professional growth, with opportunities for future career progression;

 a school-wide commitment to high-quality, inclusive teaching;

 a collaborative culture in which colleagues share practice and learn from one another;

 well-resourced Science classrooms and laboratories;

 an iPad for every member of teaching staff, with mirroring to classroom screens;

 strong administrative support, enabling teachers to concentrate on teaching;

 free on-site parking and a range of Trust employee benefits, including cycle to work, employee discounts and access to Westfield Health.
